RISPER

LIMB LAB will be playing a critical role in PART 2. They are from Rochester Minnesota. Their enthusiasm and passion for this project is astounding and inspiring. The staff at LIMB LAB possess both a scientific/medical mindset and the artistic passion and skills of a sculptor. They will be fitting the new prosthetic, helping with therapy, training Irene Kasandi to do maintenance and also creating the skin for the new leg.

OSSUR (from Iceland) is donating the hardware. OSSUR is the worlds leader in the innovation and production of prosthetic devices. More then this, OSSUR's culture demonstrates great concern and sensitivity to humanity, supporting many efforts that address big issues facing society.

PRIMETIME LIVING heard about this project and reached out to me to offer accommodations and meals for Risper’s entire stay in the US. In addition, they are planning a send off event, featuring many great foods from Africa, a fund-raiser, they want to bless her and her family before she returns to Kenya.

KIBERA PRIDE will be sending it's director Irene Kasandi to be trained in the maintenance of the new prosthetic. These devices require adjustment and care. Limb will train Irene to do this and will Skype with Irene on an iPad. Limb Lab will be donating a special set of maintenance tools for Irene to use. Irene and Limb Lab are both agreed to provide this to Risper going forward. APPLE contacted me after seeing an early draft of the film. It was one of their executives. He reached out with an offer to get involved with the project. I'm waiting to find out to what level they may be involved. Since Irene will be Skypeing for the maintenance - I'm think they might donate the iPad :)

SENATOR KLOBUCHAR has graciously agreed to write a letter of support on behalf of Risper as she meets with the US Embassy in Kenya. It's not a given that Risper's VISA will be approved. We are preparing all the documents and letters required and Amy's support may just be the one thing that tips this favorably. This project has grown into a beautiful demonstration of the selflessness of the people of Minnesota. It's really special that one of our leaders is willing to assist.

5TH FILM, that's me! I'm doing this project as a non-profit endeavor. Like most of my projects I will not take a penny nor will I recover any of my expenses. I see no reason to differ from the other groups involved. If the film should prove to be financially successful - all the monies will go to Kibera Pride, The Brothers of Mother Teresa and or a share back to Risper. My role: making the film, doing the travel, to Kenya and Iceland, shooting, editing, etc. I'll be purchasing all the music rights (unless a musician volunteers). I'm also paying for all of Risper's and Irene's' travel expenses, legal costs, VISA's and incidental's during their stay in the US. Although I'm hoping Delta might join the project and cover the airfare. :)

All donations would go to cover external expenses or you can chose to donate directly to Risper - and we will give her yours and all the collected gift and funds raised at the send off dinner.
